Friday=NYRR Headquarters

It’s another Friday which means another trip up to New York Road Runners!

IMG_2722 (478x640) So far this year I’ve run 4 NYRR races (NYRR Mini 10K, Wall Street Run, NYRR 4 Miler, and the NYRR Gridiron 4 Miler.) In addition, I’m signed up for four more in the next few weeks. Needless to say, heading up to 89th street seems to be a normal Friday afternoon activity.

Tomorrow morning Bo and I are running the Front Runners New York Lesbian and Gay Pride run. I’ve heard many great things about the energy around tomorrow’s race so I can’t wait for the race, even though the 5 mile course is going to be tough! It includes both the Harlem Hills and Cat Hill!

Start at East 101st Street on East Drive; run north, counter-clockwise around the top loop of the park; south on West Drive; east across 72nd Street Transverse; north on East Drive and finish at East 102nd Street on East Drive.

Spending time in the NYRR headquarters, which is dressed in marathon advertisements from floor to ceiling, definitely got me pumped!

IMG_2721 (640x478) How adorable are these marathon advertisements?! I can’t believe that in only 134 days I’ll be running the marathon again!

When I got home, ready to collapse on the sofa with a glass of weekend wine and my Zensah calf sleeves, I was greeted by a pile of boxes.

IMG_2723 (640x478) I swear the best surprise is when packages show up that you’ve totally forgotten you ordered!

My first Forever 21 purchase which brought elation and excitement to my pre Miami mindset!

IMG_2718 (478x640) Maybe you’d rather see a real picture of the dress, when I’m not looking like a Scream poster.

IMG_2719 (478x640)Much better! This dress was $19.80 on Forever 21’s website and I am officially in love! It not only has a down to there front but also a full open back.

The rest of the boxes were filled with a new swimsuit, a maxi dress, and a Foodbuzz surprise!

Now, without further ado, I’m off to spend my night enjoying thin crust pizza and relaxing. Tomorrow is going to be filled with running, stretching, and celebrating!

A Homemade Thursday

Sometimes, in the midst of a crazy week, nothing feels as good as a comfortable but cute outfit, yoga, and homemade food.

I enjoyed a homemade breakfast for the first time in ages since I took today as a rest day.

IMG_2708 (640x478) IMG_2711 (640x478) I enjoyed fresh strawberries with a side of Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat toast and egg whites. I microwaved the egg whites then topped them with mild salsa.

The few extra minutes to get ready meant that I could also try a new outfit combination and have time to change four times!

IMG_2712 (478x640) Unfortunately, my husband couldn’t take the time to take a non-akward picture. Oh well, regardless I was able to switch this skirt up by pairing it with a different top, shoes, and belt.

My work day was a complete blur since I started the morning in meetings at Macy’s and then ended the day in meetings back at the office. While I was sitting in meetings, poor little Justin Bieber was getting beat up by a crazy masked man.

Justin Bieber's crazed middle-aged fan was taken into custody and issued a summons for disorderly conduct Thursday afternoon.

By the end of the day, I felt about the same way this Bieber fan felt after waiting outside Macy’s Herald Square for two days straight.

Luckily, I had this lovely site waiting for me at home.

After a 20 minutes  of shoulder opening yoga poses, I headed into the kitchen to whip up a homemade dinner. It’s been a long week for both of us and we agreed that even though takeout or delivery is easy, nothing tastes as delicious as homemade.

IMG_2713 (640x478) IMG_2715 (640x478) I was able to repeat Sunday’s beet and arugula salad with the leftovers in the fridge while Bo prepared lemon and garlic sautéed spinach and sautéed mushrooms. The main dish was Trader Joe’s chicken patties. These are seriously one of our favorite Trader Joe items. They are perfectly seasoned, our perfect cooked in a pan or grilled, and are healthy!

Now, it’s time to relax and let go with Hall Pass. Hopefully it’s good for a few laughs.

What is your favorite Trader Joe’s item?
