A Fateful Sea Island Weekend

Greetings from Sea Island, Georgia!

We are enjoying a relaxing weekend down here thanks to fate.

As you may recall, I haphasardly bid on a weekend at Sea Island during the Junior League Winter Ball’s silent auction. Much to my surprise and Bo’s dismay, I won the auction item. Luckily my bid was less than 40% off what a weekend here is worth, but we were still worried we’d have a hard time making it down here.

Sea Island is located between Savannah and Jacksonville on the coast line. The resort, which was originally established in the 1920’s is bordered by the salt marsh’s gentle rivers and the Atlantic Ocean. This makes it an ideal resort for the South’s mild Spring months.

Due to my grandfather’s passing, heading to Montreal for Easter weekend wasn’t realistic. While we’d had the trip planned for months and looked forward to discovering the city and a weekend of exploration, we both agreed that what we really needed was some relaxation time together. When I was going through some old pictures of my grandparents, I found a swizzle stick Papa kept from their weekend at Sea Island. Within an hour, Bo and I had secured a river view room and booked our tee time for the weekend in Sea Island. The staff was more than generous, allowing us to use the voucher during Easter weekend, reserving their last available room.

We spent yesterday afternoon exploring the grounds, enjoying a workout in their enormous spa and fitness area, and relaxing outside along the beach.
