Scenes from Grand Central

I took myself outside of my comfort zone yesterday afternoon and spent two hours learning about photography composition. More specifically, I spent two hours taking pictures of moving objects versus food. Trying to compose a picture and scene when you don’t control the subject is far more difficult than I ever imagined.

While the class didn’t exactly meet my expectations, the dedicated time did help me practice a skill which I have been ignoring for too long.

Here is a quick glance of some of the scenes captured during yesterday’s class.

Question: How did you learn to use your DSLR camera? Manual? Class? On-Line training?

I have never taken a class to learn more about my SLR – I just practice, practice, practice with the manual settings and remember the rule of thirds 🙂

I love the phone photos, so beautiful. I am wanting to learn about photographer and am tempted to sign up for a class.

Your photos look great! I actually am looking into taking a class to help me with my photography skills (yes, mostly for food pics). Since you didn’t love this one…any great recommendations?
