JCrew Sale

While losing weight and getting toned is definitely a wonderful feeling, it can be very hard on the wallet. Just last year I spent more than I’d like to admit on new clothes from some of my favorite stores because none of my current clothes fit. Now, less than a year later, those new clothes are baggy and unbecoming while all my old clothes are suddenly new again.

I’ve decided to donate most of my business clothes to Dress for Success, a wonderful woman’s philanthropy organization which helps provide work clothes for women who can’t afford them otherwise.

Dress for Success

But, when it comes to the rest of my closet, I thought it’d be fun to offer some of the pieces to you all at a discount. Think of it as a blog sale of sorts.

Below you’ll find the pictures, along with the link to the item if it’s still available on the retailer’s website. I’m only posting a few as of now just to see if there is even interest. If you are interested in an item, please leave a comment below. I will do a flat rate shipping of $5 unless you’re located in NYC.

I generally like your blog, Ashley, but this really rubs me the wrong way. It’s glorified bragging that your clothes are too big. It’s great that you’re donating to Dress for Success, but, seriously, there are many ways to sell the other clothes. Ever heard of Ebay?

TG- It’s unfortunate you feel this way. You actually made me question the post and take it down. But the more I thought about it the more I realize that I need to be myself on this blog. I’m not the first blogger to do this and I doubt I’ll be the last. I respect that you don’t care for this and I apologize you feel this way but unfortunately, we’re all human and to each their own.

Thank you for thinking about it and for letting my comment stand. A lot of bloggers refuse to even engage in this kind of discussion. Agree to disagree and all that.

You’re donating to a wonderful cause and recycling some beautiful clothes. Way to go Ashley! Have a great weekend.

What is your reasoning behind donating most of your clothes and selling your nice jcrew clothes? Are you planning on donating the money from the blog sale to the above mentioned charity?

Oh so I guess it would be ok to sell them if you got too fat. Rock on Ashley this is your blog, sell or say what you want! By the way cute clothes but too small for me 🙂

Good for you for putting the post back up! You have great style and souls totally buy pieces from you but I wear a 4 like you probably do. I will share the link though with others.

Good for you for sticking to your guns and putting the post back up! You have incredible style and why not sell your clothes if they’re too big? Best of luck with the sale! xo

I agree with TG. This is tacky. It is tacky when other bloggers do it as well.

Definitely don’t listen to anyone saying not to do this – we all see how hard you’ve worked to tone up – nothing to be sorry about!

Hi Ashley I was wondering if you could do a post on your weight loss/tone up. What you thought worked/didn’t work? Goals you may have set etc? I think you’re doing a good job and you look great!

I don’t understand why people get so offended by what they read on a blog. If you don’t like what the blogger if offering move on… If you have a suggestion for how you could do something in a different way, make the suggestion without being rude about it. It’s interesting how people who read blogs tend to criticize bloggers if they gain a bit of weight, but the minute someone celebrates going down a few sizes they are bragging and rubbing it in. I personally have been struggling to lose weight for far too long. Instead of feeling offended by this post, I find it inspiring. Good for you for getting fit and toning up!

Thanks Stacey! Everyone has the right to have an opinion but I was pretty surprised.
