Fashion: Paris, je t’aime

I can’t believe it is already Monday! This week is going to fly by as I’m looking forward to a big trip this weekend – our four year wedding anniversary in Paris!

We have a number of plans while we’re in the city including the Eiffel Tower, Rodin Museum, Musee d’Orsay, an 8 mile running tour through the city with Paris Running tours, and a special dinner on Saturday night at Lasserre. It will be a weekend to remember, that is for sure!

In honor of the trip, I thought I’d share what I plan to wear Saturday night for our celebratory dinner. I tend to be more comfortable wearing skinny, dark jeans and sparkly tank tops out on the town, but in honor of Paris and the romantic backdrop, I decided to go a bit more glam this weekend.

What I Wore: Seersucker

A hot, humid day in Manhattan seemed like the perfect time to break out my favorite piece of seersucker.

An all-cotton fabric used historically for spring and summer clothing due to it’s light weight, seersucker is a Southern staple that I have always loved –especially in the traditional blue and white stripe. The blue and white also pairs well with a red, white and blue themed bridal shower. I am no fashion blogger and therefore do not have glamorous, professional pictures of this outfit. Instead, I have some fun pictures of me sporting this blue & white theme at my co-workers adorable bridal shower and while sipping a green juice on the subway. I know – so luxurious! You’ll notice that I added a bit of sparkle to it with two of my new Bauble Bar pieces. I’m loving their jewelry as it’s a fun way to update an existing outfit while adding a pop of color and edge.

What I Wore: Summer Rooftop Farewell Party

Right now I am relaxing at home with a lovely glass of white wine and an epic cheese plate. This definitely has the making of an amazing Sunday evening complete with some DVR television shows while laughing about last night’s memories with Bo and Meg.

Last night Bo and I were so blessed to have our friends host a rooftop going away party for us complete with Southern barbecue, great music, delicious drinks, and luckily perfect weather.

But, before the festivities began, Bo and I spent the mid morning hours sharing our favorite parts of New York with our dear friends Brad and Margaret. Talented architects who enjoy dabbling in photography, they volunteered to capture our favorite areas of New York City in pictures with us one Saturday before we moved. We never took engagement photos and therefore only have a few photos hanging in our home- many of which are over 5 years old.

Unfortunately I can only share one preview with you as we don’t have any images ourselves since Brad & Margaret insist on editing and organizing them before sharing. But, between sipping espressos in Eataly, sitting on a stoop in Gramercy, and kissing in a tree in Central Park it was a memorable day with two of our dearest friends.

Based on the many Instagram questions from friends, I thought I’d share with you my complete outfit which also doubled as my party dress later in the evening.
