Friday Favorites: Fall Makeup

Maybe it’s just me but my skin tone fluctuates so much between Summer and Fall that I have to have two full sets of makeup. Part of me dreads the change of seasons as I know it means spending a few dollars too much on new beauty products. After working in the beauty industry for five years, I am a highly involved beauty junky. I have a full skin care regimen that I swear by each day, I never go to bed with makeup on, fragrance is a key accessory, and these days I don’t leave home without a bit of mascara.   I love trying new products, shades, colors, and experimenting. Last week when I walked into SpaceNK, my Sephora substitute in London, I quickly fell in love with every product the consultant introduced to me.

I thought it’d be fun to share with you the new items I’ve purchased for Fall ranging from nail polish that is a smoky neutral to a new to me product, eye brow pencil!

What I Wore Wednesday: My Favorite Fall Outfit

When I saw the weather this morning, I knew it was time. The cool, damp weather combined with the below 50 degree temperature meant that Fall had officially arrived in Geneva. My friends here warn me that I will be miserable in October and November as it is gray, damp and cold each day. What they don’t know is that I actually love this time of year. I crave the cooler running temperatures each morning when it’s fresh enough to see my breath but warm enough to not require gloves. In terms of clothing and shoes, tall boots and skinny jeans are my go to pieces, especially on the weekends.

Today my colleagues and I spent the day in Gruyeres, Switzerland getting to know each other over fondue and truffle making. Due to the more casual activity, I chose to wear my favorite Fall outfit, perfect for weekend trips to the farmer’s market, shopping and brunch with friends, a football game, or long walks through the park with friends.

What I Wore: Seersucker

A hot, humid day in Manhattan seemed like the perfect time to break out my favorite piece of seersucker.

seersucker

An all-cotton fabric used historically for spring and summer clothing due to it’s light weight, seersucker is a Southern staple that I have always loved –especially in the traditional blue and white stripe. The blue and white also pairs well with a red, white and blue themed bridal shower. IMG_9792I am no fashion blogger and therefore do not have glamorous, professional pictures of this outfit. Instead, I have some fun pictures of me sporting this blue & white theme at my co-workers adorable bridal shower and while sipping a green juice on the subway. I know – so luxurious! I’m loving their jewelry as it’s a fun way to update an existing outfit while adding a pop of color and edge.
