Violet Love- For He As Well As She

Headbands and I have a tough relationship. It is definitely a love hate relationship. I love how cute I look in them and that workout headbands do a wonderful job of keeping the annoying flyaways out of my face. But, I can’t stand the headache or horrible “headband line” some headbands deliver along with their service. I do not want to pop an Aspirin everytime I use a headband.

Therefore, I was elated when Violet Love sent me three headbands to review on the blog. I had previously never heard of the company but luckily they included an info sheet in the box.

“Violet Love is a Los Angeles based fashion company by Rebecca Michaels, which has been rocking the charts with stylish couture hadbands, printed hosiery, intimates, & VL women’s “favorite” apparel line.
Whether you’re looking for a stylish low-maintenance hair day or you need that extra pop of color, Violet Love is the perfect accessory to wrap yourself up in!”

I especially love that this comfortable yet functional headband was the creation of a former 26 year old Civil Engineer who graduated from Penn State in 2003!

The Signature Couture Violet Love headband is specially constructed with soft fabric and the great design allows you to wear it open wide, scrunched, or folded for a more “finished” look. This custom printed headband comes in over 95 designs! I especially love the Avalon, Brown Sugar, and the Firenze. The Couture headbands are great as I feel like I could wear them for a spin class as well as work! I don’t know if the leopard print they sent me will make it to the office but I have loved it for a morning spin class or run.
The other line that they sent me to sample was the SHE by VL. While this one was much plainer, it is perfect for my active lifestyle as it is their performance line which therefore has wicking and stay put abilities that the Couture line doesn’t. I’ve worn this one on all my runs the last few weeks. In fact, I was going to wear the green one they sent me for today’s NYC Half Marathon but, Bo decided last minute that he couldn’t run the race without something to hold his red locks back. Therefore he sported this beauty today!!! He loved it! In fact, he has offered to do a guest review!
Bo: Okay, normally I’m not in for these guest reviews, but the elation about the race, combined with the celebratory beers has left me in a particulalry generous mood.  Admitedly, I probably need a haircut (my bangs are a little long at this point) and while this might make me look like Michael Douglas in “Wall Street” at work (yah, in my dreams) it poses a little trouble while I’m running.  So, Ash suggested that I wear a woman’s headband and of course my viceral reaction was one of of utter obhorance.  However, after considering the matter and trying it on, I realized that the look was much closer to a dude wearing a doo rag rather than a women wearing a cute yoga head band.  Since it passed the initial visual test, I decided to take it for a 13.1 mile test run.  I don’t have a single complaint.  It was absorbant, stayed in place, and for a guy, as long as it isn’t totally objectionable to look at, it’s a winner.  As such, I would say that SHE by VL works for me.
The sweaty headband in it’s bath post race!
